IL BARACCHINO DELLA ZIA PETRA

You eat very well, just like at home. Intrigued by the name: the baracchino, typical of the Tuscan restaurants overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast, and by the call of Aunt Petra, also evocative of the family cooking sometimes assigned to the care of the aunt, more permissive on flavors and less demanding than the mother, I let myself be guided by these two indicators and luckily for me and I hope for you too, I met Petra. She is a very kind woman with great human depth, who delights in cooking with local and Italian, Tuscan flavors, having lived and worked in the restaurant business in Tuscany, in Punt'Ala, near Follonica. I should start by saying that I showed up at 6:30 pm and asked to eat and was immediately welcomed and seated at the table without any problem. We all know that in Spain, having dinner before eight is an almost impossible feat. Reading the menu, I immediately noticed the presence of proposals from the local Spanish and Italian traditions. Inevitably my choice fell on the Italian one and with happy surprise I was able to taste mezze penne with fresh tomato, extra virgin olive oil and basil and parmesan cheese as good as and better than those made in Italy. For the second course I always went for a simple dish, a slice of veal cooked in a pan and a salad of lettuce, cherry tomatoes and fresh spring onion. We all know that simple things are the most difficult to do, well even in this case Petra was very good at satisfying the customer and above all at putting an Italian at ease at the table, something not entirely trivial. In closing I let myself be advised on tasting a cream of milk and bananas, certainly not typical of the Italian tradition, but of that of Petra which mixes several cultures to surprise the lucky customer with sweetness. I highly recommend it both to the pilgrim and to the expert traveler and above all to the local customers to discover a little corner of good cuisine a stone's throw from home, well made, with genuine ingredients and above all with passion and at surprisingly modest prices. Three of us went for lunch on a Sunday. The dining room was very pretty, and the food was delicious. We ordered mixed salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, Sicilian tuna, braised beef cheek, and beef steak, all delicious. The owner provides excellent service and hospitality. Ideal for a leisurely lunch. Sunday price: €23, a good value. Recommended.

Spectacular service and attention. You'll love anything you order. We appreciate the friendliness and kindness of both the cook, Petra, and the waitress. We were walking the Camino de Santiago, and it's one of the best places we've ever been treated. We hope to return soon.

In the village, everything closes very early. We called at 9:30 p.m., and the super-friendly lady told us she'd be waiting for us for dinner, no problem. When we arrived, she already had a table ready. The pizzas are delicious and homemade. The kids loved them. Great service. I hope they do well because it's truly a pleasure. 10 out of 10

It is a high-end restaurant. The owner, Petra, is spectacular in the way she treats her customers. She is a great cook. I especially recommend the noodles with shrimp and the cheeks, although everything she makes is delicious. The pizzas are incredible, with Italian dough and spectacular Italian ingredients.

The food is really good, you can tell it's Italian. First, we ordered spaghetti and noodles. The dishes were quite varied, and the desserts were quite good: tiramisu and lemon tart were delicious. I really liked it.

They were very friendly, they welcomed a group of 14 people and managed to feed everyone on the May 1st holiday, thank you very much.
